Our new Web site is up!

Well the new Web site is up.  Wadaya think?  Like it?  Hate it?  To my taste, it is not as visually appealing as the previous one but it now meets the necessary requirement of all modern Web sites that the pages are adaptable for viewing on screens of all sizes.  Yep, that's life now.  Apart from being necessary to reach the widest range of readers with the various devices they might be using, Google has announced that not having this feature will adversely impact a site's all important search engine ranking.  But many, many other "behind-the-scenes" features and improvements have been added as well.  See if you can identify any.

This site is built from the ground up the old fashioned way, no themes, no plugins, no automation, just HTML, CSS, and really good programming, well except for the blog engine.  The way you can tell is that you won't see many sites looking or functioning like this.  Wordpress sites would be hard pressed to implement this look and functionality.

Check out some of the features: animated drop-down menu, menu sticking to the screen on window scroll, animated page scrolling when menu item is selected, even scrolling within the menu when it goes below the screen bottom, an integrated blog to boot, integrated rss feeds subscription, and social media integration.  The most compelling feature though is the adaptability of the pages to different screen sizes.  Check it out yourself as follows.  Size the browser window manually to fill your entire screen, that is without using the "maximize" button.  You shouldn't use the maximize button because now I want you to resize the screen again manually.  Now slowly narrow the screen by dragging the right side leftwards as far as you can and watch every part of the page reconfigure itself continuously to adapt to the new screen sizes.  You will have to do this several times to watch every part of the screen, from the menu on top to the footer on the bottom adapt.  Tell me you're not impressed!

It's still under construction though.  Like many businesses, we're hard pressed to make time for activities which do not actually service clients.  We'll keep you posted with the improvements though.  One obvious element that could be better are the pictures.  They're pretty basic, aren't they?  We'll leave that for when the construction completes though and we can best decide on the most appropriate ones.  We can then pick some nice ones which will make the pages pop.

So put your two cents in.  What's good about this site, what's wrong?  What don't you like?  How should we improve it?  Let us know.  Your opinion is always paramount.
